I am running for re-election to the State Assembly to continue advancing the values our families care about.
Dear Friends,
Over the last 5 years, we have made great strides in advancing the issues that matter to all Californians, with equity, justice, and opportunity being our driving values. I am proud of my record to expand paid sick leave, to stand with working men and women for better pay and working conditions, to support small businesses with access to resources, and to combat climate change.
I look forward to delivering even more for our community and state and would be honored to have your support on this important journey.
In solidarity,

Wendy Carrillo
Democrat for Assembly District 52
I’m excited!

It is with deep sadness that we mourn the loss of Latina trailblazer, Gloria Molina. Gone to soon due to cancer, Gloria was the first Latina elected as California State Assemblymember, Los Angeles City Councilmember, and Los Angeles County Supervisor. Her impact locally, statewide and nationally is undeniable. She dedicated her life to public service, the Eastside, broke ceilings and barriers and opened doors for so many of us. There is no doubt in my mind that her trajectory and her work, paved the way for me to be where I am today.
My deepest condolences to her family, friends and loved ones. I thank them for sharing Gloria with us. She was an incredible human, mujer, who often times had no problem getting into good and necessary trouble.

She was vibrant and happy that evening. Full of joy. That’s how I will remember her. 🕊️ #ThankYouGloria …
Wishing you and yours a beautiful Mother’s Day! 💐

Working together with local governments and local law enforcement, we can ensure regulations are put in place where cruising is safe. No one wants to see negative behavior, yet, we can all appreciate the love for these beautiful cars and the dedicated car clubs and families that make this culture thrive. 🎶 …

Got a little turned around today on my way to Sacramento, and encountered a beautiful, very unique, family owned fruit store in Hollister, CA. that’s been around since 1908. Reminded me of Billy Currington’s “Good Directions” 🎶

Very somber celebration of life for Mayor Richard Riordan at Our Lady of Angels Cathedral, yesterday. More than ten years ago, I was at a non-profit meeting where the Mayor was attending and giving input. It was a new space for me and I had never met him before. He was funny and engaging, and in a private conversation he asked me about myself and said to me, “it’s important that you speak up more, say what’s in your heart.” And I realized at that moment, that I was in the room, at the table. I had “made it.” How I chose to see myself made all the difference. Simple words and guidance that changed my perspective.
It was nice to see Cardinal Mahoney. …

It is my honor to recognize Anahuacalmecac World School, Gabrielino Shoshone Nation Tribal Council
and Tzicatl Community Development Corporation on this special day of Tlalilwitl Earth Day at Chief Ya’anna Learning Village. Your contributions to our community provide a pathway for recognition, acceptance and visibility of our shared history as indigenous people in the quest for open space, land and connection. May this land be blessed now and for the next seven generations. A’ho!

Today we commemorate Holocaust Remembrance Day. With the rise of white supremacy and intolerance across our country, we stand in solidarity with our Jewish sisters, brothers and siblings to #preventgenocide and against hate, bigotry and revisionist history. ✡️ 🕯️ …
Congratulations to the Uptown Gay & Lesbian Alliance 40th Anniversary celebration and new officer instillation! What a beautiful afternoon in Eagle Rock honoring the timeline of advocacy and the work done to advance #LGBTQ+ rights. We stand on the shoulders of heroes and now more than ever we must stand united against hate, bigotry and misinformation that aims to hurt our communities. 🏳️⚧️ 🏳️🌈 …
Proud to support the efforts of Senator Reverend Raphael Warnock, who is the first African American U.S. Senator elected to the state of Georgia, which has a growing Latino population.
I’m glad I was able to share how the California legislature turned out to support Tennessee state legislators Justin Pearson, Gloria Johnson and Justin Jones, especially in calling out against the undemocratic removal of Pearson and Jones. The south is a battleground for the future of our Democracy. We must all stand united and in solidarity. …

Beautiful words. Long live Tina Turner!Angela Bassett pays tribute to Tina Turner:
“How do we say farewell to a woman who owned her pain and trauma and used it as a means to help change the world? Through her courage in telling her story, her commitment to stay the course in her life, no matter the sacrifice, and her determination to carve out a space in rock and roll for herself and for others who look like her, Tina Turner showed others who lived in fear what a beautiful future filled with love, compassion, and freedom should look like. Her final words to me – for me – were “You never mimicked me. Instead, you reached deep into your soul, found your inner Tina, and showed her to the world.” I shall hold these words close to my heart for the rest of my days. I am honored to have known Tina Turner. I am humbled to have helped show her to the world. So on today, while we mourn the loss of this iconic voice and presence, she gave us more than we could have ever asked. She gave us her whole self. And Tina Turner is a gift that that will always be ‘simply the best.’ Angels, sing thee to thy rest…Queen.”

Truly sad news. I met Gloria years ago when I worked for L.A. County in the 80s. She was amazing!
