The United Farm Workers have endorsed me!

Dear Friend:

Today, as we honor the legacy of Cesar Chávez, I’m proud to announced that the United Farm Workers, which was founded by Cesar Chavez, Dolores Huerta, and Larry Itliong, has announced their full support of my re-election campaign!

In the labor movement, we know that we stand on the shoulders of those who came before us and the UFW has been one of the fiercest advocates for working women and men over the last century. I am incredibly honored to have family that has worked in the fields and to receive the support of the UFW whose members work ethic, commitment and dedication under all conditions, feed America. UFW is responsible for elevating the voices of farm workers throughout the state and achieving incredible landmark reforms including overtime, heat safety, and pesticide protections.

Over the course of my time in Sacramento, I have made fighting for working families a cornerstone of my public service. The pandemic revealed the disproportionate impacts and burdens essential workers face, especially farm workers, who cannot work from home or do their jobs over Zoom. Amid COVID-19 and wildfires, farm workers continued to work to feed California and the nation. They were there for all of us, and I am proud to be with them.

As your Assemblymember, I vow to continue to fight for the rights, resources and protections our essential workforce needs as we continue our recovery.

It takes a team to win, and with your help I know we will achieve success in June.

In service,

Wendy Carrillo
Democrat for State Assembly
