Assemblymember Wendy Carrillo’s campaign for re-election to the 52nd Assembly District has won the endorsement of the California Nurses Association, Carrillo’s campaign announced today.
Sandy Reding, Co-President, California Nurses Association/National Nurses United, said: “The California Nurses Association is proud to support Wendy Carrillo for re-election to the State Assembly. Wendy has been an unyielding champion in the fight to guarantee health care for all Californians and helped us secure a $10 million state investment for nursing education in the state. If we want a better future where everyone can get the healthcare they need, then we need to keep Wendy Carrillo in the State Assembly fighting for all Californians.”
Founded over 100 years ago, the California Nurses Association (CNA) represents thousands of registered nurses across California. CNA is also a founding member of the 150,000-member National Nurses United, the largest union and professional association of registered nurses in U.S. history.
Assemblymember Wendy Carrillo said: “With so much at stake for our families, protecting access to healthcare and reforming our broken healthcare system is critical to our state and nation’s future. I am proud to have the support of the California Nurses Association, whose members have been on the frontlines of the pandemic and the fight to deliver quality healthcare for all. I will always stand up for healthcare for all Californians and am proud to have CNA’s support in this fight.”
CNA’s endorsement comes on the heels of State Treasurer Fiona Ma throwing her support behind Assemblymember Carrillo’s re-election campaign.
The Primary Election will be held on Tuesday, June 7, 2022.
